I'd say I'm like ... thirty now? I don't know how you people do this, being old This was a completely and utterly horrific experience, let me just tell you. I'm almost glad I sit behind a desk now instead of running around dealing with weird stuff like I used to.
Not that it made a difference in this situation. But you see what I mean.
It sure was interesting coming up with an excuse as to why I couldn't see my parents on Christmas.

As everyone is still handing in their performance re-evaluation forms, please remember that they should be filled out in triplicate: one for HR, one for Records, and one for your own personal files.
That said, there have been more recent returns from leaves of absence yet again, so this is just a friendly reminder to send Records any information that should be updated to your personnel files, ie. any departmental changes, any new skills, disabilities, etc.
There have been even more new additions to the BPRD as well yet again again. Records would like these people and new transfers to the Fairfield branch to please send along the above requested information as well.
If you'd like, you can just send it to me through the B.O.B. Otherwise you'll have to stop by Records for the paperwork. Efficient, I know.

Every night, there is a locust that tries to get into my room. She's only come out within the past week or so, when the weather started getting warmer, and I've started leaving my window open at night. She's attracted to the light, I think. But since I don't feel like setting up mosquito netting, since this isn't the Congo, of course I have a screen on my window. So she can't get in, but that doesn't stop her from buzzing over there very night.
Locusts don't seem to understand the purpose of screens. Cats don't seem to understand them either, since every night, Pagan tries to catch her. Thank god the window's too short for him to jump to; screens may hold up to locusts, but I don't think they would to cat claws.

I have tons some files to update, and I find this is a lot faster than sending out formal requests.

Has anyone been taking books out of the library without checking them out? We're missing the 1888 translation of the Panchatantra, Orczy's Old Hungarian Fairy Tales, and both copies of the Malleus Maleficarum.
But ... a lot of people's things have gone missing, so this probably isn't just a case of someone being forgetful about the sign-out sheet.
So do we have a bogart or something?

After consulting with Egon Dr. Spengler in New York, we've come to a few possibilities behind all this. These are just very rough sketches, as we're working on a time limit.
1) Acts 26:8, Why does it seem incredible to you that God should raise the dead? In an act of taking things too literally, like Christians like to do, there could be someone who has somehow found a way to raise the dead/already had an innate reanimation ability. In this case, it doesn't look like it's malicious, just really annoying and traumatizing. It shouldn't be difficult to track down any religious cults focused on this kind of thing.
2) Voudon. Kind of a stretch, since the works of Prof. Davis have since concluded that voudon zombies are less supernatural and more medicinal. A bokor uses TTX, and anyway a person has to have been "dead" pretty recently. And some of those being reanimated have been dead for awhile. ugh However, it's possible that some wannabe voudon "priest" has tapped into actual Black Magic/supernatural forces and is reviving people.
3) Nazi occult. According to some sources, the Thule Society experimented with ways to "beat death," in order to make themselves immortal. However, their experiments seemed to have been limited to Frankenstein-esque experiments with brains, electricity, etc. This would account for individual resurrections, not something on a mass scale like this, and especially not ... flesh being regrown. ugh ugh ugh
4) Is there a Death? Like a guy made of bones, carrying a scythe, walking around in a black robe? Maybe he's on vacation? This might be too fantastical. And too much like something out of Family Guy.
5) Shape-changing? It's possible that these aren't the original people revived at all, and just some entity taking their shapes. It could be individuals or a hive mind controlling them all. How would this account for their memories of their forms' lives though? Are they tapping into our own their relatives' minds?
Does anyone else have any ideas or insight?
